Learning From Progress Addressing Cancer in Europe (OBS-PACE)

With Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP), the European Commission follows a new approach to cancer prevention, treatment and care. The action ‘OBS-Learning From Progress In Addressing Cancer In Europe’ (OBS-PACE) contributes to this by improving the understanding of the national cancer control situation and policy actions in EU Member States.

About OBS-PACE

With Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP), the European Commission follows a new approach to cancer prevention, treatment and care. The action ‘OBS-Learning From Progress In Addressing Cancer In Europe’ (OBS-PACE) contributes to this by improving the understanding of the national cancer control situation and policy actions in EU Member States.

Through its new network of national cancer experts from all 27 EU countries, OBS-PACE is drawing out innovative practices in cancer research, care, and policy. Through the collection of case studies, OBS-PACE gathers valuable lessons, such as the country context, stakeholders involved, health system’s blocks and enablers, and outcomes, about the implementation of changes for health systems to better tackle cancer. Building on synergies with other European projects, in particular the OriON Joint Action, OBS-PACE aims at informing the implementation of the EBCP and the EU Mission on Cancer.
