New OBS-PACE website launched

News release

The new website for the Observatory’s action ‘OBS-Learning From Progress In Addressing Cancer In Europe’ (OBS-PACE) is live!

OBS-PACE looks at the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP) across all of its dimensions: prevention, early detection & diagnostics, cancer care, quality of life, research & innovation, digital solutions, reducing inequalities, and childhood cancer.

The project has at its core a network of national cancer experts from Ministries, Public Health and Oncology Institutes, Universities, and NGOs across all EU countries. These experts are providing case studies on initiatives tackling cancer in their countries and regions along a template newly developed for the project. Case studies across many EU countries are now available and freely accessible on the website, and more are upcoming. These case studies draw out learnings on the implementation of innovative practices, including health systems blocks and enablers, across the entire spectrum of cancer research, care, and policies in the EU.

Further analyses of the case studies with a health systems focus are also underway, with short cross-cutting news items and longer ‘deep-dives’ being published on the OBS-PACE website on a rolling basis.

These findings contribute to a better understanding of the national cancer control situation and policy actions in EU countries and to the European Cancer Inequalities Registry with essential qualitative and contextual health systems information.

A video tutorial will guide you through the website and how to use it. Check it out here.

OBS-PACE is a project run by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and the EU’s Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE). A launch webinar with DG SANTE will take place on 17 June. Register for the webinar here.
