Overview
Health systems in Europe face complex challenges that demand interdisciplinary collaboration beyond traditional health sector boundaries. Integrating health considerations into decisions in areas like urban planning, education, and architecture can enhance outcomes. Case studies such as the United World Colleges, the ‘hospital of the future’, and projects like HEART and euPOLIS demonstrate the potential of cross-sector initiatives. Key success factors include sustainability, interdisciplinary dialogue, and community engagement, ensuring decisions reflect health priorities. This article proposes a framework for intersectoral collaboration that builds on these insights, encouraging ongoing research to refine approaches and enabling health managers to influence broader societal goals.WHO Team
