Overview
The One Health approach is essential to address modern global health challenges. It integrates human, animal, plant, and environmental health to prevent, predict, and combat threats like pandemics, zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). With AMR estimated to claim millions of lives annually by 2050, the European Commission has implemented cross-policy strategies, including stringent EU veterinary regulations and targeted funding for national AMR action plans. Climate change further exacerbates health risks, highlighting the need for robust One Health frameworks. Collaborative efforts, including global partnerships and events like the European Public Health Conference, underscore the Commission’s commitment to sustainable, interconnected health solutions.WHO Team
