Overview
The Irish government was the first to introduce a national men’s health policy. It ran for five years, from 2008 –2013, and has recently been independently reviewed. The review found, overall, that the policy had a positive impact on men’s health in Ireland. The conclusions of the review suggest that national strategies on men’s health in individual European states, as well as in Europe as a whole, could be beneficial. Existing health policies should also take explicit account of the specific needs of both men and women.WHO Team
