How Wales is tackling health inequalities for future generations

Overview

The population in Wales tends to be older, poorer, and sicker than those in neighbouring countries. To address these health inequalities, future generations-focused health policies have been embraced, and support is being provided for health and wellbeing projects aimed at addressing these disparities. A prime example is the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. Additionally, close collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe has been established, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with a focus on health equity.
