Health in All Policies and Health for All Policies

Overview

The evolution from Health in All Policies (HiAP) to Health for All Policies (H4AP) emphasises health’s bidirectional relationship with broader societal goals. While HiAP integrates health considerations into diverse policy areas, H4AP highlights how improved population health and the health sector itself contribute to equity, sustainability, and economic development. Two key pathways are identified: the societal benefits of better health and the health sector’s influence through employment, procurement, and infrastructure. Intersectoral collaboration and reform within health systems are needed to help advance H4AP which can improve overall well-being and the collective wealth of nations.
