Breaking barriers: improving access to innovative cancer therapies

27 May 2025 12:00 – 13:00 CET

Tuesday 27 May 2025 (12:00-13:00 CET)

Advancing innovative cancer therapies depends on robust clinical research. Yet, geographic disparities, clinical barriers, and regulatory challenges limit equal access to this research for European patients. Moreover, as cancer clinical trials are often conducted in a few cities across Europe, with a dedicated infrastructure and under strict protocols, they often fail to represent real-world populations.

So what are the solutions to improve access to trials for innovative cancer therapies? How should regulatory frameworks be adapted? What is the potential for decentralized clinical trials to improve access, diversity and retention in trials? Join us to find out!

Observatory Spotlight Series on beating cancer in Europe

The upcoming Observatory Spotlight Series will tackle critical topics when it comes to cancer prevention and care across Europe: accelerating cancer policy implementation, equitable access to innovative therapies, and reducing inequalities in both within and between countries. Save the dates for the first three webinars in the series and register to attend live or receive the recording.

These webinars will be followed by a mini-series on cancer screening in the autumn.  Watch this space and stay subscribed to the Observatory newsletter to receive the latest announcements as soon as registrations open in the later part of the year.
