Childhood and adolescence are crucial in shaping long-term health, development and wellbeing. However, children at risk of poverty or social exclusion have higher unmet needs and worse health outcomes, while also facing greater barriers in accessing health and social care services.
Targeted interventions are key in addressing disparities and interventions in early childhood and health promotion tackle both risk factors and their long-term negative impacts.
