As we approach the 2024 European Parliament elections and the subsequent formation of a new European Commission, what should be the European Union's health priorities? Do we build on the achievements of the past few years, do we maintain the status quo, or even reconsider certain measures?
Recognizing the need for an informed debate, the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety has tasked the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies with organizing a public debate. This debate is designed to engage different audiences and give voice to policy makers and different stakeholders. Nine themes have been identified and outlined to guide the discussion. Following events held at various conferences, the Observatory is now facilitating webinars to delve deeper into each of these themes and engage in comprehensive discussions.
The second webinar of the series will deal with the following three themes:
- Achieving universal health coverage
- Addressing the determinants of health through Health in All Policies and Health for All Policies
- Enhancing the labour market for health and care workers
This will be a highly interactive format, to allow for debate, comments and suggestions.
Speakers and facilitators include:
- Michelle Falkenbach, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
- Ewout van Ginneken, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
- Nicole Mauer, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
- Matthias Wismar, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
With a welcome message from Sandra Gallina, Director-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), European Commission.
