Although public health uses population-based approaches and primary care typically delivers individual care, their separation is in many ways artificial and their integration creates the potential for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Approaches to integrating primary care and public health range from mutual awareness, through cooperation to collaboration and full integration involving a single, fully merged organization with a shared plan and budget.
What can we learn from different country experiences in integrating health and primary care services? What are the enablers and barriers to closer working? How does this strengthen the health system and population health? Join us to find out!
