The Health Directorate, in partnership with the National Health Fund (CNS), launched an enhanced phase of its colorectal cancer screening programme in September 2024. This initiative reinforces efforts to detect colorectal cancer in its early stage, improves access to screening and encourage wider participation.
Both residents and non-residents affiliated with the CNS, aged 45 to 74, receive an invitation with a unique voucher number, enabling them to obtain a home screening kit (FIT, Fecal Immunochemical Test) either via ordering in the private eSpace (myGuichet) or directly from pharmacies or designated laboratory centers. The latter also provide comprehensive support and instructions. The home test is a simple examination that analyzes a stool sample to detect the presence of blood invisible to the naked eye, which may indicate the presence of polyps or colon cancer.
To streamline the process, previous programme participants automatically receive a new screening kit with their invitation, eliminating the need for a separate request.
