On 17 December 2024, the government adopted the “Healthcare
Workforce Development Strategy 2025–2029”, which sets out future
directions for the development of human resources in the healthcare
system. This strategy aims to implement comprehensive measures to
attract and retain critical medical staff in the public sector.
The primary focus areas are:
- improving working and employment conditions to create motivating and engaging conditions for specialists in the public health sector;
- introducing new approaches to medical education (simulation training); and
- introducing new professions and roles, in accordance with demand in the labour market.
This
strategy includes plans to develop new planning tools and create a
unified register based on the existing register, to consolidate all data
on human resources in the health sector.
