Wilm Quentin

Wilm Quentin is Professor of Planetary & Public Health at the University of Bayreuth and leads the German West-African Centre for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention (G-WAC). He is Editor-in-Chief of Health Policy and Senior Expert Advisor of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. He has consulted for WHO (EURO, AFRO), the World Bank, national governments (e.g., Ghana, Belgium, Slovenia), and health insurers in Poland and South Korea.

A medical doctor, Wilm holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning & Financing from LSHTM and LSE. He studied medicine and political science in Würzburg, Munich, Madrid, Leipzig, and Marburg. Before joining Bayreuth, he spent nearly 15 years at TU Berlin’s Department of Health Care Management, earning his Habilitation in Public Health in 2017. He was a visiting fellow in Abidjan and is a Visiting Professor at KNUST, Ghana.
