Biography
Stefan Eichwalder is Deputy Director-General at the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in Austria. Mr. Eichwalder is responsible for the health systems division and member of various working groups on National, European and International level and Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies.
Before joining the ministry in 2012 he was working as a researcher in the field of health economics at an Austrian research institute and in the statistics and research branch of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. His expertise is in health economics and health policy which he combines with the experience from his academic work.
