Ruth Waitzberg

Biography

Ruth is part of the team contracted to work with the Observatory at the Berlin hub and is based at the Technische Universitat Berlin. She is also a researcher scholar since 2010 at the Economics and Health Policy Team, at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute. Her work focuses on health systems strengthening, payments to health providers and incentives, health insurance, policy evaluation, health and long-term care systems, cross-country comparisons, and COVID-19 related health policy.
Ruth has worked in collaboration with Israeli policymakers both brokering knowledge from the world to Israel and from Israel to the world. Ruth has won competitive grants for independent studies on healthcare policy and health economics. Ruth holds a BA in sociology, anthropology and political science and an MA in public policy, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is finalizing her joint PhD at the Technical University of Berlin and Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
