Mieke Rijken
Biography
Mieke Rijken, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the Netherlands institute for health services research (Nivel) and Professor International health and social care at the University of Eastern Finland. Her research focuses on person-centred integrated care, in particular on the identification of individuals with complex care needs, and how their care experiences could be improved through person-centred integrated care interventions. She also studies the transformation towards people-centred health systems and how patient-reported quality information could support this transformation. She led the PaRIS-SUR consortium that provided support to the OECD with the development and worldwide implementation of the new Patient-Reported Indicators Survey (PaRIS). She also provides scientific support to the European Partnership on transforming health and care systems (THCS), the EU joint action JACARDI and EU projects on person-centred care for survivors of CAYA cancers. Furthermore, she has worked on integrated care for people with multimorbidity in several EU projects.
